How do I receive phone calls from my incarcerated loved one?

Learn about Advance Pay Accounts and how to to make a deposit

Some phone carriers do not accept “collect” calls, or the free calls that people can make from inside a jail or prison. In order to ensure you can receive calls from a person who is incarcerated at a WV jail:

  1. Create an account with the phone system provider, ConnectNetwork
  2. Under "My Facilities," use the drop down menus to select "West Virginia" and "WV Div of Corrections and Rehabilitation."
  3. Then, under "My Services," select "AdvancePay Phone"
  4. Select "Add Phone," and follow prompts to enter your 10-digit phone number and select "WV Div of Correction and Rehabilitation" from the drop down menu.
  5. Select your Notification Preferences, select "Next" and then "Submit."
  6. Finally, use the "Add Funds" option to make a deposit in your Advance Pay Account. Note that ConnectNow charges a $3.00 fee on each deposit (For example, if you deposit $10, only $7 will enter your account).
  7. Enter your payment information and hit submit.

As long as you have a balance for at least a one-minute call in your account, you can receive a call at any time. Once you have successfully deposited funds into your Advance Pay Account, it will appear on your Home Screen:

Remember: an AdvancePay Account is different from a Trust Account, funds from which can be used by your incarcerated  loved one either to purchase items from the commissary OR to add to their phone account. You can learn more about this account type at this link
